About Entertaiment
The clown at a birthday party, the Broadway show, your friends fighting over the last potato chip—anything that amuses or distracts us is entertainment. It comes from the old French entretenir, related to hospitality and the idea of keeping guests happy. We use it to describe theatrical entertainment as shows, visual entertainment such as paintings and movies, and audio entertainment, which usually means music.
In today’s technological scenario, entertainment has shifted to virtual space for a major part of the youth population. The traditional sources of entertainment such as theater, acoustic music and reading have been replaced by social media and netflix.
