Entertaiment is a word that has evolved to become a catch-all phrase for all kinds of experiences. It can be as small as a single choice of entertainment for one individual from an array of pre-recorded options; to a banquet adapted for two; to performances planned for thousands or even millions. It may be as light-hearted as a joke or as serious as a religious festival, ceremonial ritual, or political satire. Entertainment can also be a means of self-expression, or simply something that makes us feel good. It is a way of life, but it is also the source of much conflict and controversy.
